SG标志（下图）是“Safety Goods”的缩写，是由日本消费品安全协会（Consumer Product Safety Association，简称CPSA）制定的自愿性的产品安全保证标志。日本消费品安全协会CPSA是根据日本消费品安全法成立的，CPSA通过制订标准来促进与保证消费品安全，对于符合CPSA标准的商品CPSA将颁发SG标志。
SG标志是一个产品认证体系。日本消费品安全协会CPSA为可能会危及人的生命或造成伤害的产品制定获得SG标志的安全标准，安全标准主要是针对产品的结构、材料和/或使用模式方面。作为判断消费类产品安全的必要准则，这些标准是在基于来自专业界和其它许多不同界别代表的意见的基础上制定的，这些界别包括消费者、制造商、经销商、测试和检查机构以及政府部门。只有那些经审核符合安全标准的产品才被CPSA授权粘贴SG标志，审核方法有两种，一种是“批次审核”，另一种是“工厂注册＋型式确认”。万一SG标志的产品有缺陷，造成事故、造成伤害或死亡，CPSA将支付赔偿金。
这种经济担保是SG标志体系的基本特点，可以说它树立了一个里程碑，对于消费者使用其覆盖的产品，既提供安全保障又承担伤害赔偿。
